6abc Program Aims to Help Military Families

Facebook LIKE's = Donations to USO
EP Henry Joins the Cause with a Matching Donation.

(Philadelphia, PA) - 6abc is once again using social media to raise money for a worthy cause!  From June 8th - June 22nd, WPVI will donate 25¢ to the Liberty Military FamiliesUSO for every new (incremental) LIKE to the 6abc Action News Facebook page!  And partnering up with WPVI is Delaware Valley-based hardscape manufacturer - EP Henry.  The 109-year, family-owned business will match every WPVI donation, making each LIKE worth 50¢!  6abc & EP Henry have together pledged up to $10,000 for this initiative.

The campaign will be supported with an on-air promotional campaign, featuring Action News' Rick Williams & Monica Malpass.  The PSA will also showcase military veterans, an active duty family, and a representative from EP Henry.  President & General Manager, Bernie Prazenica, is excited to help local military families.  "These LIKE drives have been very successful for us, and we're thrilled to be working with a great organization like the Liberty USO.  We fully expect to reach our goal and we're excited to support the brave men and women that serve and protect our country."

6abc has conducted seven similar LIKE Drives, generating more the $13,000 dollars for local charities.  Some of the participating charities include: local SPCA's, THON, Cradles to Crayons, & Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
