The Foundation Recognized EP Henry during its Annual Fundraising Gala
Holmdel, NJ-October 31, 2014- On Thursday, October 30, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation honored EP Henry at its annual fundraising gala, "A Night at the Museum - A Salute to Patriotism."
In May 2014, the Foundation unveiled the Huey Helicopter Plaza during its annual New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day ceremony. The Huey, which served two tours in Vietnam, is a lasting tribute to the veterans who served during the Vietnam Era. The plaza was constructed with EP Henry pavers and walls that were donated through the company's HeroScaping® program.
"We're beyond grateful for the generous time, labor and materials donated by EP Henry," said Bill Linderman, Executive Director of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation. "The Huey Helicopter served two tours in Vietnam and we're proud to see it restored in all its glory. This project would not have been possible without them."
The Memorial was funded byOperation Huey Restoration. EP Henry was among the largest supporters, donating approximately 1,000 square feet of pavers and 1,300 square feet of walls to the Plaza.
"We're humbled to be honored by the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation," said EP Henry CEO, J.C. Henry. "Through our HeroScaping® initiative, it's our mission to honor those who have served. We're proud to have put our name behind this project."
Formalized into a program in 2012, EP Henry's HeroScaping® program has contributed more than $325,000 in materials, labor and monetary contributions to military-related projects and organizations.
A significant part of HeroScaping® since its inception is the donation of products to repair and improve the outdoor living spaces of military families and community locations in need of rebuilding or constructing, including veterans' monuments, memorials, municipal buildings and school park areas. Any member of the community can nominate a project by filling out the form here.
Past gala honorees include Pete Dawkins, Joe Bellino, Joseph Grano Jr., Senator Max Clelland, Astronaut Charles Bolden, Olympic rowing coach and Army veteran Ted Nash, Olympic gold medalist Jason Read, Admiral Paul Gaffney, Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, Medal of Honor recipient Jack Jacobs and Governors Florio, Kean and Whitman.
