NJ Honors Vietnam Veterans during Remembrance Day Ceremony

On Wednesday, May 7, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation will unveil its newly constructed Huey Helicopter Plaza, the latestEP Henry HeroScaping project, during the annual New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day ceremony.

The ceremony honors the more than 200,000 New Jersey residents who served during the war. The Huey, which served two tours in Vietnam, will be a lasting tribute to the veterans who served during the Vietnam Era.

The helicopter permanently lands at the Huey Plaza in Holmdel, New Jersey. The plaza was made possible by donors and volunteers fromOperation Huey Restoration. EP Henry was among the largest sponsors of the project, donating approximately 1,000 square feet of pavers and 1,300 square feet of walls to the Plaza.

"It's our mission to honor those who have served, and we're proud to support a project that recognizes the armed forces from our home state," said EP Henry CEO, J.C. Henry. "It'll be exciting to see the final project unveiled."

Formalized into a program in 2012, EP Henry's HeroScaping program has contributed over $325,000 in materials, labor and monetary contributions to military-related projects and organizations.

A significant part of HeroScaping since its inception is the donation of products to repair and improve the outdoor living spaces of military families and community locations in need of rebuilding or constructing, including veterans' monuments, memorials, municipal buildings and school park areas. Any member of the community can nominate a project by filling out the form here.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center, 1 Memorial Lane, Holmdel, New Jersey (exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway, on the grounds of the PNC Bank Arts Center).
