What Does Heroscaping Mean To You?

What does HeroScaping® mean to me? If I would have been asked this question last year at this time I wouldn’t have known what to say. Being asked this question now, after actually stepping foot onto a Heroscape site and providing a helping hand on the project, I don't know where to begin. This project has taught me about working as a team and working to give back.

Building this project is just a small way to give thanks to a veteran for all they have done. As a young citizen who wants to give back to their country, this is the best way to do so. Now, I would be lying if is said this was easy work, but the look on the veteran’s face is what makes this all worth it at the end of the day. I am grateful for everyone who is involved in the military and who serves to protect our country every day. I am proud to honor and show respect to veterans by dong projects like these.

Our entire class came together and worked as a team to get this done was great. We learned early on that if we worked towards one common goal we would be able to accomplish anything. Our “anything” became the HeroScaping project. I know for a fact that we all walked away from that project very proud of the work we had done.

So, what does HeroScaping mean to me? It means that I am able to give back to my community and show my respect to those who serve and have served our country. Yes, there are other ways to give back, however to me; doing something I enjoy doing for a good cause is the best way. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world. It has taught me so much about team work, leadership, giving back, and respect. I am proud to have been part of this project. I am proud to be a HeroScaper.
